Major transportation improvements completed in county

State and local officials, including Senator Ted Gaines, Tribal Chairman Nicholas Fonseca of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, Commissioner James Earp from the California Transportation Commission, Caltrans District 3 Director Jody Jones, and El Dorado County Transportation Commission Chair Jack Sweeney celebrated the completion of two significant transportation improvement projects today in El Dorado County. Already open to traffic, the ceremonial ribbons were cut marking the final phase of the Missouri Flat Interchange project and the completion of 5.9 miles of new High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on U.S. Highway 50. The projects represent a combined investment of nearly $104 million in El Dorado County’s transportation system.
