Fellow Citizens-
A vote will be taken at the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday 5/12 (item #33), to decide if further funding will be granted for the Draft EIR on the General Plan update. At our well attended community presentation on April 29, we showed how this update strips protections and induces growth, contrary to its stated purpose of ‘implementing the General Plan’. The extent of both the project and its impacts have been misrepresented to residents. Tell your Supervisors ‘no further funding’.
Additionally, Supervisor Ranalli (District 4) stands to benefit personally and financially from the vote being taken Tuesday, as he owns property that will gain entitlements via this update. Help us in urging him to recuse himself from this vote rather than risk the potential outfall of another costly special election such as we saw in District 2 last year.
Please write to your Supervisors (sample email below) and/or attend the hearing if you are able.

Subject: Comment on General Plan Update, File #12-0113
Dear Board of Supervisors,
1) I request that you do NOT expend any more Taxpayer dollars on funding this Update. Instead, please only move forward with the few, if any, changes required by law, and discard the remaining growth inducing revisions. Our protective policies should not be gutted from the voter-approved General Plan. It will only lead to expensive litigation for the County, as described by the Community Development Agency director on April 14.
2) I implore you specifically, Supervisor Ranalli, to recuse yourself from this vote, as you stand to benefit from entitlements granted to property you own as a result of this vote.
Thank you,
